Moustapha Mbow, the 26-year-old central defender for Paris FC, has enjoyed a breakout season in Ligue 1, establishing himself as a cornerstone of the team's defense. In a recent interview, he opened up about his aspirations, including a dream to play for Senegal in the upcoming World Cup.

Reflecting on his season, Mbow acknowledged the initial struggles as the team found its rhythm but expressed satisfaction with their recent form. He has played both left and right center-back, adapting alongside partners like Timothée Kolodziejczak, Otavio, and Diego Coppola. Mbow credited Kolodziejczak for helping him improve his positioning and mental approach, even when the veteran is not on the pitch.

One area Mbow identified for growth is concentration. He admitted to occasional lapses but noted progress in the second half of the season under coach Antoine Kombouaré's guidance. He also seeks advice from experienced teammates like Kevin Trapp and Pierre Lees-Melou about playing abroad.

Pape Thiaw, Senegal's national team coach, recently visited Paris FC to meet Mbow and discuss his potential World Cup inclusion. Mbow called the tournament a "dream" and emphasized that consistent performances with his club could earn him a spot. He referenced his non-selection for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) as motivation, turning disappointment into drive.

Mbow also weighed in on the controversial CAN final, where Senegal initially won on the field but later saw the result overturned by CAF. He firmly stated, "Senegal won. Matches aren't won two months later. On the pitch, everyone saw we won."

Regarding his future, Mbow has a contract with Paris FC until 2028 and is committed to the club's project. However, he admitted that "everyone dreams of playing in the Premier League or Bundesliga," leaving the door open for a potential move abroad.
