Caatinga Biome Exhibition in São Paulo Runs Until October 2026A new exhibition titled 'Caatinga: Bioma do Brasil' is now open at the Museu Biológico do Instituto Butantan in São Paulo, offering visitors an immersive look into one of Brazil's most unique ecosystems. The exhibition is scheduled to run until October 4, 2026.

The showcase features live animals, sounds, videos, and various elements designed to represent the caatinga biome, a semi-arid region in northeastern Brazil. Its primary goals are to raise public awareness about the caatinga ecosystem, combat common stereotypes associated with the region, and promote conservation efforts.

The exhibition was organized by researcher Thaís Barreto Guedes da Costa from Unesp de Rio Claro. It is a collaborative effort involving Instituto Butantan, Guedes Lab, and ICMBio (the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation).

Visitors to the museum can experience the diverse flora and fauna of the caatinga through interactive displays and educational materials, gaining a deeper understanding of this vital Brazilian biome.
