A 35-year-old man has died following a violent assault in the city of Caratinga, located in the Vale do Rio Doce region of Minas Gerais. The victim has been identified as Christian Maicon Vieira.

The incident occurred on Friday, May 8th. According to reports from the Military Police (PM), Vieira was discovered deceased on Travessa Taguatinga in the Zacarias neighborhood. The cause of death was determined to be severe injuries sustained from being beaten with sticks.

Emergency services were called to the scene. When military police officers arrived, they found the man already fallen and bearing significant wounds. The Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) also responded to the location and officially confirmed the death.

Following the discovery, the Civil Police's forensic team was activated to conduct an investigation at the scene. After completing their initial work and evidence collection, they authorized the release of the body to be transported to the Posto Médico Legal (Legal Medical Post) for further examination.

As of the latest update, the Military Police were actively conducting operations to locate potential suspects involved in the attack. Authorities were also performing investigative work to determine the specific motive behind the fatal assault.

The case remains under active investigation. The police have issued a public appeal for anyone with information that could assist in solving the crime or identifying those responsible to come forward.
