According to the case details, a 34-year-old man was indicted for racial injury (injúria racial) after he repeatedly called the teenager 'macaco' (monkey). The racist insults occurred after an opposing team's goal and were repeated three times during the match, leading officials to end the game.

The incident was investigated by the Delegacia Especializada de Atendimento à Mulher (Deam) in Passos. The case has since been forwarded to the Judiciary for further proceedings.
