Founded in 1944 in the Eastern Province city of Dammam, Al-Ettifaq Club is one of the pioneering institutions of Saudi Arabian football. The club's name, meaning "The Agreement" or "The Accord," reflects its origins as a unifying force for local youth. As a founding member of the Saudi Premier League in 1976, Al-Ettifaq quickly established itself as a formidable force, claiming back-to-back league titles in the 1982-83 and 1983-84 seasons.
