He pointed to concrete examples within the racing world to support his case. IndyCar has already implemented the use of 100% renewable fuel supplied by Shell. Following a similar trajectory, Formula 1 has recently committed to this sustainable path. Baxton sees these moves as critical proof-of-concept steps that demonstrate the viability of the technology under the most demanding conditions.

The journalist directly addressed the commercial pressures he perceives from automakers. He suggested that the strong push towards electric vehicles is partly driven by a business model that encourages consumers to purchase new cars. In contrast, sustainable fuels offer a solution that works with existing vehicle technology and the current refueling ecosystem, potentially offering a more gradual and less disruptive transition.

In a follow-up clarification, Baxton emphasized that his stance is fundamentally pro-ICE, not anti-EV.
